Geek joy

What a ridiculous day at work. Anyway. I installed my bluetooth module that finally arrived today in my new laptop and it works fine. I then installed the drivers and tethered to my N900 with no problems.. my first tethering experience. I could get used to that. :)

Now, time for some games and relaxing.

Isn't the N900 a thing of beauty? You can get MMS by installing the fMMS app from the repositories, but you'll need to add maemo-devel / maemo-extras if you haven't already. :)

I've enabled maemo-extras, which is available but disabled by default. I don't want to enable maemo-devel as I value stability over functionality at this point. It already has enough functionality for me :)

Also, one thing I was surprised by was that the over-the-air OS ('firmware') update isn't pushed more, as this doesn't involve needing to back up and restore or indeed anything more complicated than pressing 'yes' and waiting a while.

Sooooo...are you getting a tricorder app to complete the GeekJoy? I know Marcus Aurelius wasn't complete until I got a lightsaber app on it. ;)

Hmmm. I don't think there's an actual app that's the 'killer app' for me - it's more the whole centralised and built-in communication with ease-of-use and flexibility that's the killer app for me.. but that's a bit of a mouthful. :)
