Which ADSL broadband ISP would you suggest?

Requirements: Cheap as dirt, for non-techy using Win2k for standard net/email stuff.

I'd highly recommend Eclipse (http://www.eclipse.net.uk/). I've found their service spot on, they're regularly one of the fastest and at £23/month it's a decent price.

Pipex (http://www.pipex.com/).

Recommended to us by two Geeks (always a good sign IMO <g>) and the site support is good.

For non-geeks, I'd suggest Pipex. They've been great for me for non geek stuff.

I've had fantastic service from Nildram (http://getadsl.co.uk/) - and they seem to consitantly rank among the top on http://www.adslguide.org.uk/isp_compare.asp

Not as cheap as some of the others though... but you often get what you pay for.

I've just signed up with Freedom2surf, £19 per month + VAT, no connection charge, 1 months notice to cancel so I'll let you know how I get on

They've answered a few technical questions pretty well so far
