We drove to Cornwall and camped with [livejournal.com profile] kissycat1000's two kids.
We went to the Sea Life Centre and some towns and went on the beach.

We didn't get much sleep. And not in a good way.

Next time she'll listen to me about camping on a hill *mutters*.. and I'll bring another tent..

Where in Cornwall is the Sea Life Centre? Headed that way tomorrow and somehow feel inclined to plan for wet weather things, not that I'm a pessimist you understand...

Sorry I had to screen your comment - [livejournal.com profile] kissycat1000 doesn't like her real name being mentioned on LJ..

I have to admit, it wasn't easy but it was important for both of us. I don't think we really realised quite how important until afterwards :)

We'd love to come and see you, thank you so much for the kind offer :) I expect it will be WeaselFest proper or something if the timings work out :) *hugs*

[livejournal.com profile] kissycat1000 wants me to point out that we didn't stay there, just went there for the Aquarium...

Heh. The only reason I dislike it is because there is always a queue of traffic on every road into it in the tourist season, and nowhere to park.

Hmm. In my limited experience of camping (my parents gave up fairly quickly, and got a caravan instead) an incline is just-about bearable, provided you set things up so you sleep with your head uphill. Otherwise blood rushes to your head, or you roll downhill.

And at least it's better than sleeping at the bottom of a hill, if it rains...

Yes. Exactly what I said (sleep with head up-hill). But was I listened to? Oh no.

Apparently she wanted to make sure the door was out of the wind (fair enough) but then forgot that the insides of the tent were such that people could only fit if they slept one way.. *sigh*

I think that's the problem with all reasonably popular sea-side tourist destinations in peak season..?
