I know the answer to that but before I reveal it I must apologise in advance to [livejournal.com profile] ninneviane. I'm not writing this to rub it in. I'm writing it only because this is my journal and what I'm writing is what I'm going through. It's just unfortunate the timing really couldn't be any worse from your perspective. I'm sorry hun *hugs*.

I'm awake because my mind was racing as I tried to get to sleep. I've just spent the last two evenings sorting and packing my stuff in my room and the loft. I think finally this is all beginning to become real and sink in to me. I'm moving into my own house!! [livejournal.com profile] kissycat1000 asked me earlier tonight if I was sad to be leaving this house as I've been in it for 3 years, the longest I've been anywhere since leaving home - in some ways I will be sad. But in most ways I feel I've already left - I'd stopped making improvements to my standard of living in this house, I didn't spend a lot of time here, etc.

I've sifted through a lot of my past - chucked all my uni notes, old cards, paperwork, that sort of thing. I've also chucked a whole load of stuff that cropped up from my previous relationship with Kerry. It was kind of weird in that it felt almost just like any other clutter. *sigh*. Odd.

One thing I did find was an old photo of the back of my head. Not very interesting, you might think. Well. I was 12. It was of a school assembly. In Indonesia. And I was speaking to H.R.H. The Princess of Wales. So I guess it was an important photograph.

I look almost emaciated in the photo. Puberty and steroids (for medical reasons) certainly changed things a lot! My appetite increased four-fold and never decreased again.

Anyway, my plan over the next week is to spend tomorrow night with [livejournal.com profile] kissycat1000, then Friday night through to Sunday I'll be at a friend's near Reading enjoying a LAN, back to [livejournal.com profile] kissycat1000's on Sunday, work from home on Monday at [livejournal.com profile] kissycat1000's; pack the remaining bits and pieces and dismantle furniture etc on Tuesday and Wednesday nights and move on Thursday. Friday I move [livejournal.com profile] ev1ldonut into the room I'll have just left..

Then I have my dad and step-mum turning up on Saturday evening and staying the night. Hopefully they'll be bringing a fridge-freezer with them.

The rest of the week is going to be spent trying to get some order to the place until Thursday evening when my mum (and possibly her boyfriend and/or my sister) will be turning up, and Friday I'm on holiday to spend with them.

Then Saturday is the party!! Good lord. No rest for the wicked. Certainly not right now, anyway. It's nearly 4am. I've spent the last few hours having some very enjoyable games of Magic: The Gathering with [livejournal.com profile] rikrose to pass the time. I don't think I'm going to be in at 9am. I'll either call in sick or work from home, most likely the former at this rate *sigh*. Ah well can't be helped. Let's try again at this sleeping thing.

Moving is always a bit strange in a 'one door closes as another one opens' sort of way. I hope it all goes smoothly, and that you will be very happy in your new home.

And I hope you find that you don't have any previous plans for the 7th and then you'll get to see it.. :)

It's a Contact Centre weekend, unfortunately, which means I can't get away until the afternoon but the rest of the weekend seems to be OK. Babysitter and money permitting I still hope to make it :-)

You took notes while at university? That was commendably diligent of you. (-8

Party… still want to turn up; still not certain I can. Sometimes I think it'd be nice to be able to plan my social life more than four hours in advance.

**hugs and squeezes you very very tightly**

Hey you...don't you dare apologise (though it's sweet of you, and I am touched by the consideration **smiles**) for being excited & having plans that make you happy in progress, and saying so!

I am so happy and pleased for you. I could see how much the stress of all the uncertainty was getting you down, and I know how much this move means for you, and for those you love around you. It's a wonderful thing, and if I could make it to the party, I'd be there with bells on to help you celebrate! :)

The sleeplessness has to be a result of you being so excited over the new house. It IS exciting! It is so weird to go through old photographs and things though....once your thoughts on those people and places have changed...it is such a weird feeling.
