Hurrah!

Finally, my wireless keyboard and mouse seem to be behaving after coming back from the fixers - second time lucky! They gave in despite again not being able to recreate my problem and sent me back a new keyboard, mouse and receiver. And it works! Hah, I knew I wasn't in the wrong.
