My older machines all take SDRAM, and my "newer" machines all take RDRAM ...
... with the possible exception of the "music machine" which has a gig of ram in it, but I don't know what kind as I've not had time to do anything with it yet. (it's (I think) an Athlon 2000 ... it has a Yamaha SW1000XG sound card, a DS2416 mixer/effects card, an AX44 multiple input/output bay, an SoundBlaster Audigy sound card, plus midi keyboard, Cubase SX3 and a big stack of music software, samples etc.) so I'm afraid it's not spare :-(
It sounds like the kids "reasonable" system is going to end up being better than my "best" system!
