Rose's gig in Camden Underworld

Hi all! Right, this gets rather convoluted. I am actually going to attempt to organise something on LiveJournal. Wish me luck ;)

Just in case you don't know what I'm on about, the band my good friend Rose is in, Waterglass, is giving it's first performance to the paying public on Saturday the 1st June (yes that's THIS Saturday) at Camden Underworld, apparently part of (or near) the World's End pub (right next to the tube station) in Camden, London.

Doors: 7pm
Cost: £5 with a flyer, £6 without.
Line up: WATERGLASS (on stage 9pm)
7TH HARMONIC (on stage 8.15pm)
FIREFLY (on stage 7.30pm)

with DJ-ing by NILS (slimelight)

Here is the deal. I am starting in Bristol and swinging by Cheltenham at 12ish to pick up kissycat1000. We will then be going on to Oxford to pick up Hannah and possibly Rachael. The plan is to meet at about 4pm in the Gloucester Arms in Oxford, before carrying on to London. If cryx and/or nemy want to come along too I can swing by Egham and pick them up as well :) We might just get to the place on time ;)

Then we have the gig in Camden, meeting dylan there :) Rock!

Crashing arrangements? Well Rose and Frances have offered their place to us - it's in Leytonstone. kissycat1000 and I are hoping to crash in Egham at cryx and nemy's. I checked with cryx; Rachael and Hannah can stay there as well if they like, otherwise they can stay at Rose and Frances' (email/IM me, details on profile, if you need Rose and Frances' contact details). Either way, Hannah and Rachael will be able to get a lift back to Oxford with either myself (if staying in Egham) or dylan (if staying at Roses).

I will be leaving Egham later on Sunday after a BBQ and other merriment, probably about 8pmish.. oh, so Hannah I think you WILL need to get a lift back with dylan to get back in time..?

There. I think that all works out OK.

Now all I need to know is if I have this right, and whether cryx and nemy are coming along or not! Post away, I'll check up on this and post the final version of events as a comment on this post when I think it's all sorted. Here goes... *fingers crossed*

yeah, work at 8.30 sunday morning! someone will have to find a way of getting me to victoria very early or i can go straight from gig if not. thank you for inviting me, have not seen Rose for a long time, ickle Andy is jealous.

Sounds good. Don't know if i'll be going yet, or not...
It's prolly easier if only you and KC1000 stay over, cos egham is not the easiest place to commute from. Your friends are welcome, but it's probably more akward for them in the long run.

8:30? Eek. I think the best bet is going to be to get a coach back overnight. Either that or get up damned early and catch the tube from Leytonstone (2 mins walk from Rose's house) to Victoria..?

Ok, as requested, I've been a busy girl (thanx to cryx) and have found out about this:

Get your tickets quickly for the grand final of the National Lesbian Beauty Contest as they are selling out fast. The event is on Sunday June 2nd at the Astoria Theatre, 157 Charing Cross Road, London WC2.

The show will feature 32 spectacular contestants with a capacity crowd of 2,000 women cheering them on. An insider told Rainbownetwork that this year’s event will be something very special, “The show is shaping up to be spectacular. The women participating are working very hard on their talent sections and the requests coming for props into the office are very interesting”

The show starts 8pm and doors open 6pm with all three bars open until midnight.


It doesn't SAY 'no men' but refers to a capacity crowd of women, so I get the feeling that azekeil and [Unknown site tag] aren't gonna be welcome somehow.. damn :(

I invited you the last time!! A day in Weston with me, the kids and dylan, followed by an all night house party (with Ruth, Ed, Louise, Rich, Mark etc,) at Chris's.. a good timme was had by all..

Okay, after lots of phoning and such, the plan seems to be as follows:

I swing by Cheltenham at 12ish, pick up kissycat1000. We drive to Oxford and eventually meet Hannah, Rachael (+ friend Ruth?) in the Gloucester Arms at 4ish and drive straight to the club, aiming to get there for 7pm. cryx and nemy will make their own way there if they want to. kissycat1000 and I will drive back to cryx and nemy's to crash, while Hannah, Rachael (and Ruth?) crash at Roses' - they get a lift back with dylan on Sunday or make their own ways back to Oxford.

Meanwhile, cryx, nemy, kissycat1000 and I have a lazy sunday morning, go to a BBQ house warming where I think amongst other people eggwhite will be there, then on possibly to a Lesbian Beauty Contest in London again before going home late Sunday, dropping cryx and nemy off.

sounds great. I'm not sure about the Beauty contest, cos i'm still not sure of the door policy, and it is on the expensive side, when i am muchly poor. Also the bbq may go on into the evening, so much chilling and social stuff may be the order of the day :)

sounds good to me, there is an underground car park just off baeumont street, you can see gloucester arms from the main entrance. if you get lost call me after 4. really looking forward to this. who are rachael and ruth? i'm sure i know them.

Underground carpark - cool! The Gloucester Arms is very close to The Cellar, where we met at Infusion. Rachael was the blonde thin goth at Infusion I greeted enthusiastically (well okay so I greet everyone enthusiastically lol). I can't honestly remember if Ruth her friend was with her.
