A photo I took the other day...

On Friday we went to Nando's, and ev1ldonut and ninjagirl posed together. I insisted they posed again for a photo. I think it came out pretty well, although I had to alter the colour balance as I hadn't set it up beforehand. ninjagirl's hair is actually redder in real life.

Yeah. I think that due to the combination of the white balance setting and the ambient light it's going to be nigh on impossible to get both natural-looking skin tones and correctly-coloured hair from that photo. I went with mostly natural-looking skin tones...

My hair comes out pink on photos taken with a flash.
Any attempts to correct this after makes my face green

Also - Azekeil, tut tut, not manually setting the WB before taking pictures? Shocking behaviour shocking I say ;) heheh. I mean, surely you carry a white reference card with you at all times?

If I bothered to get to know my camera a bit, I could have used an indoor incandescent light preset for white balance that would at least have been a reasonable approximation. Boo to me.

see what you mean about the white balance messing with the colours; does your camera do raw? That's how I get around carrying around a bit of grey card!

Otherwise, I like the shot - especially the nice angle :)) I just wish that I had your eye for composition!
