If I'm being honest, I'm in a rather emotional place right now anyway.

I was a bit bemused by the "..and then" endings.

To be honest the only thing that made me sad when viewing this film was my inability to leave the cinema half way through due to lack of courage ^^;;

Long, and quite creepy. I've never warmed to AI...I suspect it would have been a film to leave me in a blubbery mess, but it was one of M's favourite films (he had a thing for the boy robot...which figures) and that really put me off the whole film.
