Thoughts and plans?

Something the proprietor of an army surplus store near Cheltenham said to me made me remember. I wanted to ride around the world on a motorcycle. He said that all the old people he speaks to have great remorse that they didn't do more with their lives when they were younger. I've spent my time concentrating on my career so far; now I'm working for a larger company I may be able to secure a sabbatical.

It's certainly something to think about, and it's making me feel excited; like it might be about the right time for me to be doing it. It's not something that'll happen tomorrow; it'll likely take a couple of years planning and training.

Right now, I'm just thinking. But it's certainly exciting just thinking about it ;)

Dreams are so important, to be able to realise them is a precious thing - go for it!

My dream was to walk the Inca trail, but now with ME I think I need to dream a new dream..

I know. I'm not even sure that's what I should be doing right now, but coming up with ideas that are titillating me is probably an important step on getting to the right answer :)

YES! Have a look on the Maries Curie site - they organise loads of charity treks and adventures and I'm sure they'd go for it if someone suggested the idea.

In principle I'd love to join you. Family commitments obviously impact such decisions but please keep me informed as to thoughts, if timing works out and the family is also keen we'll probably join you. Although we may do it in a 4x4 instead of on a bike...

That's very true. I'm also thinking about at least contacting Nick Sanders or his organisation as they've done exactly this sort of thing in the past.

That would be.. excellent. A support vehicle is pretty much a definite requirement, depending on what exactly we're planning to do.
