I've just seen The Two Towers with [livejournal.com profile] kissycat1000 and her daughter. I'm half ashamed and half proud to admit it was a near religious experience for me. The sheer scale, emotion and seeing an epic fantasy tale brought to life in such detail was breathtaking.

I knew it was a film while I was watching it, I knew it was just a story and lots of computer generated effects but it still moved me to tears with a myriad of different emotions throughout the film, ranging from sorrow to anger to awe to inspiration to pity to excitement.

I don't know what to say.. this is film entertainment at it's most powerful and best. If only they could make more films that provoked this emotional response.

Hear hear!

Thank you, you've completely summed up the way I felt about the film myself, to the point that I'm not even going to bother reviewing it, I'm just going to link to your post! :-)

Awesome! All I have to say about it.

Yeh, I couldn't give a subjective review because I was just sat in awe for the whole time. I think it's just because Peter Jackson has taken all the things I imagined as a kid and put it right there on the screen in front of me and got it exactly right!

I know what you're saying, mate - I thought it was a truly breath taking film. For me, it was done so well and I was so absorbed within it that it actually felt like I was watching a piece of real history! Only another year to wait until the concluding release... I cant wait!!!!

Still waiting to see it after Chritmas as a family outing. My father in law is there who has just got back in touch with an old RAF buddy and olympic fencing-team mate who just happened to be swordmaster to the 3 films! Should be able to get Ivan to meet him.

I'm so looking forward to seeing the film and even more so after reading a review in which Jackson's handling of the mass battle scenes and the majesty of geography are favourably compared to Eisenstein and Kurosawa - wow!

Heh no worries. Unfortunately [livejournal.com profile] kissycat1000 liked it as a film but didn't share my enthusism which was frustrating.
