Bike Weekend!

Fantastic! Everyone seems to be finally getting their bikes in order, so all that remains is for someone to organise something. So here it is! We are all going to OXFORD, on Saturday 5^th July (yes, just over three weeks from now!) to meet in:

The Three Pigeons Inn, London Road, Milton Common, Thame, Oxfordshire, OX9 2JN

Yellow pages entry Multimap Streetmap (use even z= numbers in URL to get 5x5 map instead of default 3x3)

There is a field right next door which bikers have used to camp in before and the pub has been informed - so bring yer tents/sleeping bags/what have you - if you haven't room on the bike for a tent I'm sure someone will give you some room in theirs!

The plan is to meet up in the pub during the early afternoon and then we will go for a ride leaving at 3pm promptly. Route TBC. We get back, get some booze, light a few fires and generally have a damn good time before retiring to the tents for the night.

Anyone who wants to come should leave a comment on this post (for numbers), preferably with:

• Make/model of bike (for interest) - links, not pictures please.
• Whether they will be bringing a pillion or not
• Whether they'd be willing to take a pillion in case someone wants to come but hasn't got a ride..
• Where they're coming from (to help people get rides)

Anyone who wants my mobile number in case of problems should email me separately.

Come on, this is the big biking event of the summer! Promote/link like crazy!

Dude, this IS summer. Wake up! I admit it would be more dangerous than anything to have you along for the ride. But you could come and camp later on at any rate if you wanted to?

Argh damn :( I/we can only do things on the first weekend of any month.. if it's not this weekend it's not until at least September, and it starts to get cold then :(

Oh, and could you pass the message on to jebuscrust in case he doesn't get this? I dunno if he'll be able to make it but it would be great to see him..

Well as long as there are enough pillion places for everyone who wants to pillion & everyone gets picked up as they need to be in the first place, then there's no reason pillions shouldn't swap later on.

Anyway, I'm free that weekend so I'd love to come along. I'm happy to give a lift to florence90 or anyone else who needs a ride.

Incidentally, I have a Suzuki SV650S (which has just been restored to almost as new after the insurance company of the people who knocked it over while parked finally paid up) and I live in Oxford.

Lucky you that you got insurance details. My SV got hit by what looks like a bus-coloured vehicle, and I phrase it that way because all I have to go on is the smear of paint on the front tyre when I came out to find it on the deck. No note, no witnesses.

I would have been tempted by this if it were nto for two reasons - 1) camping. Ick, no thnaks. :-)
2) I wiull be on my way back from 2 days at Cadwell park, possibly via a jet ski-ing place. :-)

Ahh.. A bike rally. what fun they are! Pull up on yer bike, pitch up yer tent and head straight for the beer tent or pub, which ever the site has. You must do some of the winter ones too. They sort out the fair weather bikers and they are usually great fun too. In fact they all are with the right crowd!! :o) Have a great time all.

As I say, it's been sat in my cupboard for nearly three years. I'm pretty sure it's all there and I'm happy to make that a condition of sale. It cost me 450 quid new but I'm not really worried about getting that back, I had 2 years good use out of it.

Hmm no bike. Not today, anyway, but I've spent lots of surfing time browsing bikes. Again.

I even rang a guy about a N-plate CBR600FS going for 2250, although he hasn't called me back yet.

I'm having a bit of a bike/car indecision atm, I need some solutions :S
