Good:
  • Playing with new hifi bits on loan
  • [livejournal.com profile] dylan's BBQ
  • New graphics card arriving

Bad:
  • Playing with new hifi bits on loan
  • Nearly getting killed on the way into work

This guy just didn't look before pulling out onto the dual carriageway. I was doing 60 or so in the right hand lane. I didn't really believe he was actually going to pull out; or into the right hand lane. When I realised he was I beeped the horn and managed to squeeze past with inches to spare.

Adrenaline kicked in and I was still shaking by the time I got to work. The person who pulled out was obviously in shock as they almost parked in the right hand lane. The van behind me slowed right down; I don't think he was ever in any danger of ploughing into the back of the car that pulled out.

This has happened to me twice since I started driving, pretty much exactly like you describe. The lack of observation some people have sometimes is scarey. :S

At least you came through unscathed. *hugs*

And I was in my *car* as well today. Still, I'd have had a much easier time avoiding him on my bike at least.

I love you lots too.

This guy must have had blind spots in front of his eyes or something. The turning was the one between the GCHQ and Golden Valley roundabouts on the A40.

I've taken the week off after my birthday: 30th Aug (which is the bank holiday) - 3rd Sept. We're planning a family day out during the week at some point, hopefully near the beginning or end so I can come down mid-week..

Well, if you have some leisure time...

You could always pop over to Cambridgeshire at some point and hear some real hi-fi. (-8

Nod. A week is about the right amount of notice — a good compromise between long enough to be prepared and short enough that I won't forget.

That would be great. I'm working on Sundays and Thursdays I think, though I'm not sure if that's a weekly thing or whether they're going to change it. I did ask for it to remain the same so I stand a chance of organising the rest of my summer. Damn needing to earn money but wanting to do stuff that costs money that i don't really have!! I think that's going to be a bit of a problem over the next few years....

Well, keep me posted, yeah? xxx
