Need something more..
Sep. 6th, 2004 06:46 pmWell I'm in work and listening to music, I've had a lovely week's holiday, everyone's happy, I was greeted by the new desktop machine I asked for on my return and I've had an easy day setting that up for my use. However I'm feeling like there's something more that I'm missing. I think it's just post-holiday blues setting in, but I feel quite restless.
As an aside I had got very used to not going into work. It was a bit of a shock to the system to go back.
Hmm. Perhaps it's because I want to get the new bike. That would explain it. Let me explain. For those of you who don't know, at the Cheltenham Motorcycle sale on Saturday I bumped into a chap who wants to sell his Honda Blackbird (P reg, 29k on the clock) for £2,500. That's a full £2k less than I was expecting to pay for a reasonable example, so I'm thrilled. Just need
ev1ldonut to get his arse in gear (any luck today?) to organise buying my old bike off me. I think I want to pass the reg through to the police first though to check it's not nicked..
Oh, and Rick, one of my work colleages, is looking at getting a Suzuki GSXR750.. Paul has to retake his test, Jen could be convinced.. it's looking like the IT dept is going 2-wheeled!

Date: 2004-09-06 11:06 am (UTC)The payments for my existing graduate loan, plus rent and bills, then put on top the payments on a new loan of the size I would need, plus the insurance, fuel and maintenance. I just don't make enough a month to cover it and have any kind of life to make it worth doing. :(
As much as I want that bike, I think I'm going to have to say that you'll be better off selling it mate, really. You'll get a better deal for it, and it'll mean that I don't push myself to financial limits and potentially get into trouble. *sigh*

Date: 2004-09-06 11:38 am (UTC)If you give me another day or two to look at some other places, I can see if I can get options of lower monthly payments which may make it possible. Otherwise, after food, bills, loans and bike costs, I'll have NO money for any social activity at all

I think I'll stick to the GSX1400 for the moment. :-)
