Pre-interview
Jul. 25th, 2005 08:32 amWell last night I was fairly stressed - I should have sorted all these things out well in advance.
- I couldn't find my degree certificate (yes I did think at the time that it's not going to end up being important, but I will ring the uni today and see if they can't fax me a copy for now, and request a duplicate to be posted to me).
- My suit's been nibbled by moths! Argh! The trousers are fine, but the jacket has two tiny but noticable holes. Ruined! That's fairly annoying (and not good for stress levels). I'm just going to wear the trousers I think.
- Last night I ended driving back to my house twice from
kissycat1000's where I was staying to pick up first my belt, then my good shoes.
ev1ldonut very kindly polished my shoes, and the iron wasn't horribly against me this time so I managed to get the wrinkles in the right place on my shirt.- I managed to get back in touch with my old unix mentor - she's one of the top people in her field (network security), and she's agreed to give me a reference, so that's a big plus.

Date: 2005-07-25 08:33 am (UTC)I expect you'll find you know the interview subjects better than they do, just like last time. ;)
Try not to stress too much, it won't help. Have some soothing tea. :) *hugs*

Date: 2005-07-25 08:43 am (UTC)THere's nothing in this job that you don't or can't already do, to at least a reasonable degree, and you'll be really good at it. You're not nervouse because you can't get it, you're nervous because it's the best job you've applied for and it's a slight upwards stretch from your current one, which is the way it should be. I know you've always gone for jobs that you can simply walk into before, but they've never really fulfilled you. This one, by the sounds of it, can...
You can get this, and a lot easier than you give yourself credit for during your bouts of negativity. POsitivity is good, try to hold onto that. It's more than justufied. You're great at what you do and would be an assest to the company, just like you have been in all your other jobs to date. *Kiss*

Date: 2005-07-25 09:03 am (UTC)I dont even know if I ever had mine on paper. The only other time I heard of one being necessary was recently when someone was trying to get permission to live and work in the US.
