Okay Friday. Stop poking fun at me. When I got up it was cold and foggy. Now it's sunny. I've been through Friday morning. Friday afternoon is just dragging. Why can't it be the weekend already, so I can relax, watch films, fix and mend bikes and actually live my life?

On a side note, my health is all over the place, so much so that working seems to be taking it all out of me, so the weekends seem to be the only time I can actually live my life. This is Not Much Fun™.

Conversely, the weekend seems to be the only chance I have to recover from my life. ;)

Ah, well I should consider that too. Certainly recently you'll have noticed I hvae spent most of it recovering from the week. Previously I wasn't excessively troubled by doing DIY for most of it...

Actually that is a good point. My diet is not all it could be at present, having slipped a little since my initial interest in the Paul McKenna thing. What I really need is more control over what I choose to eat, and that will come through spending more time at my house where I can more easily have input to what I eat.

You have my sympathy on the health front - I've spent the last 4 months being horribly ill with a mystery ailment (well the GPs have had 3 guesses so far, none of which have lead to treatment that actually helped).

Feeling knackered all the time after no work is no fun at all, and really eats into your chance to enjoy anything.

I see diet has been suggested. Vitamins also worth considering if your diet is poor. Hopefully you won't feel like this for too long.

Exercise is also something I want to address. I was thinking about cycling into work, but despise the normal type saddles that are available. I was reminded of recumbent cycles after stumbling on the link to yours, but at £1.5k that's rather too much. However, I'm considering trying to get a second-hand one from eBay to see if it is viable etc.

Hehehe, well mine is at the most terrifyingly expensive end of recumbents. Trikes are a good deal more expensive than recumbent bikes too, as they're much more unusual.

You can pick up new recumbents at closer to 1K, but that's still not cheap. There are definitely second hand ones to be had, so that's well worth considering.

I've tried a variety of other saddles on uprights, and you can get something a good deal more comfortable, if you make sure the bike fits you properly otherwise and is all set up right, but it never even approaches the comfort of a recumbent.

I've got a few places to look for second hand recumbent bikes, having a quite glance seems to yield things from about 400 upwards. Still not cheap, but a lot better than 1.5K. I've not tried ebay yet.

I recommend the cycling option though, particularly regular commuting to work, improves your fitness very quickly. I'm looking forward to being well enough to go back to my cycle commute again!

Aw, but look, it's the weekend now and it's sunny-licious!

Sorry to hear you've not been well... have you been to the doctor? I don't know if this will help, but I always find I feel much healthier if I go to the gym once a week, although if you're suffering from general run-downedness that probably won't help you (and you shouldn't go to the gym if it's anything more serious anyway!). It's probably something worth remembering for when you are feeling back to your old self again though?

It may just be that your immune system is taking a long time to recover after the op and the subsequent illnesses, as that does take a lot out of you, especially when you're always so busy and do so much. Maybe you just need to take some time off work and spend it relaxing and letting your body recover a bit?

*hug* Hope you feel better soon! (Not sure if you like tea or not, but just in case: *tea* and also *bikkit*)
