Now, fellow LJers, tell me of some PC software that acts like TomTom with by GPS unit on my laptop (Windows or Linux). Because I can't seem to figure out which software I should be looking at..
I have already worked out how to get the raw logs mapped onto Google Earth.. :)
Thanks!

- Microsoft Autoroute.
- Something beginning with A that I can't remember.
And they're all rubbish.
The laptop does doesn't work for in car Navigation. I know, I tried. In the end I put TomTom Mobile on my Nokia 6600 and THAT works well.
What mobile phone do you have?

Date: 2006-06-23 07:55 am (UTC)I'm contemplating getting a pda or a sub-notebook with a touch screen, but I haven't researched this market at all. Ideally I'd want something that will run standard windows or linux stuff.
I wonder if there's a pda/etc emulator for a PC?

Date: 2006-06-23 07:59 am (UTC)My recommendation would be to find an old Symbian phone from ebay or somewhere (the 6600 is perfectly adequate) and purchase a half-gig memory card for it. The practicality of it far exceeds that of using the laptop.
