Damnit. Nearsight is 20/20.
Sep. 28th, 2006 04:54 pmI've just realised that it would have actually saved me money if I got a builder in to finish off my master bedroom - the way it would have done that is if I could rent out my other room sooner than if I were doing the work myself, such that the rent from the time period I missed would more than cover the building work. Plus of course the work would be done earlier. And by a professional. And not me. Damn. Wish I'd realised that all sooner.
As it is I have the next couple of weekends planned to work on the room which will hopefully get it in a position to get the plasterers in before decorating. I think I should sit down and work out if it might still be worthwhile getting a builder in.

On the downside - Always be suspicious of a builder who is available immediately. They may feel the need to re-do some of your work, depending on what stage it's at or your prefered methods.
