Yesterday was a washout - I wasn't expecting to do any work but I have been feeling wiped out all day.

The decorator I booked came round and quoted me just shy of £1100 to do both bedrooms, all inclusive excepting buying wallpaper and carpets, and fitting carpets. I just can't afford that - that's a good portion of my kitchen right there.

And I appear to be ill, so I'm just feeling overwhelmed with the work that's got to be done and the shrinking amount of time left to do it in. I'm going to have to take time off work to do it.

Then to top it all off, the kids were tired and ratty before bed time, with J escalating his bad behaviour. Thankfully he didn't wet the bed or carpet (as he has done in the past; T did warn us that he was threatening to though). Instead he pulled the curtains off and also tore off strips of wallpaper.

All just really rather depressing. I think I'm going to play a game for an hour or so while trying to wake up, then do some of the last tasks before [livejournal.com profile] sacha37 comes over to help prepare the walls.

What do you need the decorator to do? I could probably ask around at work for you and get some recommendations of other people you could have round for quotes, if that'd help?

It appears I'm at a loose end today if you need an extra pair of hands? You'll have to remind me of your address though, if you want me. :)

I do hope you get past the illness thing soon; you seem to have been having lots of trouble with being under the weather recently - do you have any vitamin or mineral deficiencies that might be affecting your health?

If you fancy it yeah that would be useful. I can offer beer and pizza when we're done. If you could help sponge the remaining wallpaper and scrape it off that would be really useful. I think [livejournal.com profile] sacha37 is planning to turn up around 3ish, so around then would be useful.

I'm afraid I shall have to pass on the beer and pizza (driving and diet respectively), but won't object to being fed a cup of tea or two. 3ish is fab, and I've even managed to relocate your address so unless you've moved since I was last round I shall be able to find you!

See you later! :)

Of course, sorry. No I haven't moved. See you then! :)

So by all inclusive, he means Stripping the walls and putting up new wallpaper, which you've bought seperately?
Jesus, that's a rip.

Well to be fair most of the work is in the preparation - the walls have to be completely stripped, sanded, filled, sealed, then papered. The ceiling has to be sanded, filled, sealed then painted. The woodwork has to be sanded, primed and painted twice. It will take him about a week coming and going.

I'm planning to not skimp on it, but perhaps not be quite as meticulous as he was going to be.
