Well, [livejournal.com profile] kissycat1000 and I did go swimming last night. I forgot how long hair behaves in a pool, and spent ages getting the knots out in the shower afterwards. Will be restraining it next time somehow. I'm glad I brought my conditioner.

Tried to take it easy, but still feel like someone has injected a load of lead in all my limbs. Plus I woke myself up at 5:38 when I tried to roll over onto.. yup you guessed it, my still sore hip. If it doesn't clear up soon I'm going to the doctor's - not that they'll be able to do much I guess.

Now have a cold as well, of course.

Roll on the weekend.

Hair tip - For long hair it is well worth buying the shampoo and conditioner that specifically removes chlorine from the hair. After a few weeks back to swimming the condition of my hair was going down hill and normal conditioner wasn't doing the job any more...knots were not coming out, hair went all fluffy and brittle. Got the chlorine removing stuff and it really sorted it out again :)

What's up with your hip? Sciatica, injury or something else?

Thanks for the tip, will have to look into that!

The hip is yeah basically a trapped nerve from what I can work out. Ibuprofen gives total relief for a few hours, suggesting there's some inflammation there.

Trapped nerves are just awful - my sciatic nerve goes fairly regularly, sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes for a couple of days. Most nights I have to change position on account it. The Ibuprofen is a good idea also gentle exercise to manipulate the joint freeing any nerves that are trapped. That often works for me, seems to move everything back to where it should be. Sitting in one position or for too long definitely seems to make it a lot worse and delays it getting better.

It looks goofy (rather than goffy sadly) but swimming caps are very helpful

There's one on my hip too.
A large one. Ian pointed it out when we got back to mine on the Sunday.
