So I'm not in work today. Got a bad night's sleep on Sunday night but made it into work on Monday. By the time I left work on Monday I was feeling distinctly below par and didn't make it to roleplaying that night. Got another bad night's sleep last night, despite 1mg of Melatonin. May try again tonight, but with a smaller dosage, see if that helps.

Went to the doctor's and they've told me I have a virus, told me to self-certify until the end of the week, ensure my diet is good, get exercise when the virus has passed, reduce alcohol consumption (not that I drink much these days anyway) and reduce caffeine consumption after 6pm and get a strict bedtime routine going. I'll also have blood tests on Monday to see if there's anything else the matter.

In the mean time, bleurgh.

Hmmm... Maybe my current exhaustion is viral rather than 'post' viral then. That makes me feel a bit better about it actually. :)

Maybe some Echinacea would help?

Actually, I was going to suggest that you might be suffering from the same thing.

Ew, germs

Would also explain the way I've been feeling lately.

Another good piece of advice (and forgive me if you're already doing this) is something I picked up from my doctor while suffering with sleeping problems.

Don't do anything that stimulates your brain for at least an hour before going to bed. No TV, no computers, no reading...just chill out for an hour or so. You do anything that keeps the brain active before going to bed and it stays active. It's worth a try - it worked for me. :-)

Thanks. It's not so much going to sleep I have a problem with, it's waking up after either 4 hours sleep (i.e. one set of deep sleep) or before I'm due to wake up (i.e. 5-6am). I'll try anything, though..

Not much help here but..hope you feel better soon :) I hate feeling run-down and it always has a habit of happening when you need to be at your most active! >_<).

Well I don't need to be at my most active at present, thankfully, but it's stressful because work are already concerned about my sickness.
