Last night, I gave birth.
Apr. 29th, 2003 10:08 amI gave birth to the most devious, whirring, screaming spawn of satan this house has ever seen. No less than 3 fat 120mm fans, a total of 8 (when complete) 160GB HDDs, a HUGE mess of cables and wires, bits of bodged meccano, cable ties and even string holds this beast together in an impressive amalgamation of modern technology and the bodger's guide to DIY servers on a budget.
stuartl has the last remaining 160GB disk which I need to put in to complete a 1TB RAID-5 volume.
My god this thing's loud. I'm going to have to try and run the fans off 7v to see if it makes it more acceptable. No thermal death for this baby, oh no.
