More News on the Bike Run!
Jun. 30th, 2003 11:59 amDespite fears that the Three Pigeons was double-booked and hence unavailable for the Bike Weekend on Sat 5th July, it turns out that they have 5 acres of land, so more than enough room for both groups. Not only that, but it turns out that the wedding that's happening is one of the barmaids', and it is a biker bash! Fantastic!
Not only that, but they have live rock music on the Saturday night as well, so it sounds like it's going to be a right old knees-up!
I have to admit I don't know Oxford that well. So, suggestions for routes and/or volunteers to lead the way would be very appreciated. If I don't hear anything by Wednesday evening I shall start planning a route myself.
In the mean time, here is a poll to fill in to get a more up-to-date idea of what's going on:
UPDATE: For the relief of our female campers (pun intended), the female loos will be left open throughout the night :)

Date: 2003-06-30 04:11 am (UTC)I'm looking forward to the time when I get my next bike. It may be a couple of years, but a better bike, with better suspension, and I'll have Sue whizzing about all over the country on it.

Date: 2003-06-30 07:41 am (UTC)Helen won't be coming pillion.
I will be coming to the ride on the condition that I'm happy with the new bike.
I haven't really decided about camping/pub etc because it largely depends on the company (see below).
I have a 2-3 man tent that I can bring if necessary (and if I can squeeze it on the bike, I don't have a top box).
I live in Thatcham so the closer my pillion is to me the better, alternatively I'm quite happy to chop and change as and when.
I can probably help a bit with the route, I'm marginally more local than most of the attendees but not as local as
I think that's it for now...

Date: 2003-06-30 07:53 am (UTC)Anyway, as most of you know I neither drink nor smoke so pubs are usually highly undesirable. So basically if everyone is going to sit there deliberately getting drunk I'm going to be bored within an hour.
Rant over, I'm sure you get what I mean... :)

Date: 2003-06-30 08:42 am (UTC)Personally, I've always found it highly amusing watching / talking to drunk people while sober ;)
