Well I'm still alive.

But my hip has let it be known that IT DOES NOT APPRECIATE THE CYCLING!

Ow.

At least I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning. My sleep is suffering. I even had the indignity of having to climb down my stairs one step at a time.. on my bottom! After the first couple of steps, I just didn't trust my leg not to buckle under me or twinge in pain.

This has got to stop.

Well, the cycling was actually very successful. It took me hardly any longer than in the car and I wasn't sweaty or particularly out of breath when I got there or got back, and I felt much more alert while I was there - which has always been a problem in the past. Damn [livejournal.com profile] sacha37 for bringing butterscotch shortbread snaps though. Damn him!

would crawling backwards be a better, Everso slightly more dignified option?

*hugs*

No. It's shifting weight on/off my hip that seems to do it, and at acute angles too.

At any rate, the painkillers and anti-inflammatories combined with sitting still seem to have relieved most of the symptoms for now.

*hugs*

First up, you have my utmost sympathy matey. I know exactly how it feels to be in so much pain that you are, for all intents and purposes, disabled. I know how frustrating/upsetting/embarassing it can be. *hugs*

But that said, if you can't have a giggle, then there's something very wrong, and the image of you getting down the stairs by use of your backside does indeed amuse me, just a little. ;)

I'm glad you have the doctors appointment, as if it's gotten this bad then there could well be something quite serious going on. It would have faded by now if it was going to, instead it appears to have gotten worse. Hopefully the doc will be able to help you.

Good to hear the cycling went well! You're taking to this new active lifestyle very well, I must say! :D

Well slightly more active, but yeah.

It seems to have pretty much cleared up now I'm sat down and not using it, and have taken painkillers and anti-inflammatories.

It did disappear by itself last time, but I didn't aggravate it as I have done this time..

Cycling last night reminded me how I used to cycle to see my friend up a bloody great hill while I was at school. Convenience has made me lazy, to the point I forget how simple getting on your bike and using your legs actually is. I hope I find my badminton racquet before Friday :)
