I completely understand all the problems with regulation and of course the problems with lapses in judgement. At the end of the day if you speed in an area where it's inappropriate then that's a lapse in judgement..
It's just I disagree with the prevailing attitude towards speed that means that even if it's a deserted motorway, the speed limit is still 70mph.
I'd love to see an advanced driving course which meant that you didn't automatically get prosecuted for excess speed.. but I think that would just be too much of a headache for the govt to implement.
