.. naturally I feel better. I want to thank everyone for their supportive comments, but it occurs to me that many people might think I regularly suffer from depression. This is not the case. My last bout of depression (and also my first) was about 3 years ago. I realise it's a circumstantial thing, short term as well. My trouble is I'm just not used to coping with it, hence the emotional rollercoaster and these entries. People should also realise that I'm not ashamed of anything, so what you see in here is the whole as far as I am aware of it. There is no iceberg below the surface, although I may omit some details I'm pretty sure I'll give a reasonable impression of what's going on.

In fact, while I'm on the subject of explaining myself I thought I'd tell you some oddities about myself. I'm not religious. I'm obviously going straight to hell/being reincarnated as a slug/whatever your religious non-believer punishment is. I don't believe in Christmas. Bah humbug. I don't do clothes. Some of yuo may have already noticed. I hate shopping. No, really. I don't do romantic gifts. See previous point. I don't take sides in arguments. I see both sides and usually it's personal choice. I play devil's advocate. I favour balance.

So what do I do? Well.. I like to help friends if they'll let me. I'll go to great lengths to help them. It's something I get a lot of enjoyment from. Instead of romantic gifts I prefer doing something thoughtful that takes effort. In this way I show my affection for someone. I ride a motorbike :) Oh, and I'm a geek. Anything else is a figment of your overactive imaginations, or at least that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it ;)

It has to be said, if you don't do clothes at all, it would certainly be noticeable.

Sorry, it's been one of those evenings. ~s~

~hugs~ Glad you're feeling brighter and things. Wish I had something deeper or at least more serious to say but I'm very tired...

Just don't ask me about clothes. [livejournal.com profile] kissycat1000 still doesn't seem to have learned this lesson.. :S

Get some sleep. You'll still be there tomorrow :)

I guess a single rose, of the scented variety, with all the thorns removed, trailed over my naked body, accompanied by tia maria passed mouth to mouth and cadbury's chocolate mousse licked off skin, is too romantic for you..?

damn...

You've been watching too many films. But they were good ones.

That's your idea of romantic? I thought I was the one to burst into tears at romantic suggestions in a film?

But incidently, thank you for doing YOUR idea of romance.

Thank you for choosing to spend your evening building a server PC for my home network, making it all work, installing an OS on it that I can actually use, a genuine Win2K OS CD (I can't believe you've never seen a hologrammed copy before).. sorting out the drivers.. Being the typical geek with cold pizza, in one hand, beer in the other.. turning off the football to watch Van Damme..

I love you. More than you could even know.

*smile*

I suspect this is one of the strongest similarities in our characters... but one of the more subtle too. It's not the sort of personality feature that tends to get noticed/remembered immediately, because it's (usually) tied to being non-confrontational.

Oh, and I'm a geek.

That, on the other hand, would be one of the more obvious similarities  ;)

Do you think not being religious qualifies as an oddity these days?

Well, being non-religious is common in the sorts of people we choose to socialise with, I'd agree.

I think my classification was perhaps a little off. This is something I've been meaning to post for a few days.

But in terms of personality features.. I felt that strongly from you. Perhaps it takes people who feel similarly to notice that in each other.

Or perhaps I'm just drunk :S

We don't discuss geek at all though do we? Apart from one question right when I was getting to know you. Isn't that odd?

I think I recall [livejournal.com profile] kissycat1000 going a bit glassy-eyed when we started babbling about something techie the evening I was there. I can't remember what though, so perhaps I'm imagining it.

Anyway, it's possible that what we class as 'general chat', other people might class as 'geeking'  :)

[livejournal.com profile] kissycat1000 is equally geeky, just not as badly about computers as us. She's more a Trekky and (recently discovered:) she likes snooker ;)
